Sorry for the late notice, but we’re back in the Friend Center Convocation Room this Wednesday, 7/26 @ 7pm for our weekly meeting! Here’s the schedule for this week. Back to workshop first!

7:00-7:10 — Check-in (don’t forget your mask!)

7:10-8:00 — Workshop: “Energy Minimization” with Rob & Zoë. This workshop focuses on learning to Lindy Hop to faster songs – a must-know for social dancing! Difficulty level: advanced beginner (you should know the Lindy basic and how to do a swingout)

8:00-9:00 — Beginner lesson with Grittney and Sam

9:00-10:00 — Social Dance

Hey everyone!

We’re back in the Friend Center Convocation Room this Wednesday, 7/12 @ 7pm for our weekly meeting! Here’s the schedule for this week; please note the experience levels needed to participate in each lesson!

7:00-7:10 — Check-in (don’t forget your mask!)

7:10-8:00 — Workshop: “Finding Your Center” with Rob. Please bring 2 belts with you to participate in this lesson (they’re needed as props). (Intermediate Lindy Hop experience required – you’ll need to know the universal Lindy Hop handshake & how to do a swingout.)

8:00-9:00 — Beginner lesson with Grittney & Kunal (no experience required)

9:00-10:00 — Social Dance

This week, we’ll be holding an executive board meeting before check-in (6:30-7:00). If you’re interested in helping run the club for the upcoming academic year, please feel free to attend this meeting!

8:00-9:00 — Beginner lesson with Sam & Kirstin

Afterward, we’ll be going to karaoke at the Ivy Inn! We had a lot of fun last time singing along to the music and dancing to any songs with a swing beat, and we’d love to have you join us 😀

*Terminology note: Beginners are still learning basic footwork and dance skills; advanced beginners are comfortable with the basic footwork and know a few moves; intermediate dancers have mastered the basics and often know more advanced moves

Swing dance – addendum

Something I forgot to mention previously (sorry Rob!) – for the intermediate Lindy workshop, “Finding Your Center,” please wear a belt + bring a second belt with you to the dance! These are needed as part of the lesson, so make sure to bring them.

We’re back in the Friend Center Convocation Room for our last dance of the semester this Wednesday, May 17th starting at 7 p.m. This is our Spring Fling formal (woo!), so we will not be holding an intermediate lesson this time – instead, we encourage you to dress up & come social dance with us!

Hi everyone! This week, our dance will be held at the Princeton Arts Council building (102 Witherspoon St, Princeton NJ 08542) starting at 6:30 p.m on Wednesday, May 10th. As a reminder, this dance costs $5 per person to help cover the cost of the room rental. Here’s the schedule for this week:

We’re back in the Friend Center Convocation Room this Wednesday (4/3) at 7:00 p.m. This week is a great week for beginners – we’ll holding a beginner lesson in Lindy Hop (8-count) earlier in the evening to start a brief intermediate Lindy Hop series to finish out the semester, and then our usual beginner jitterbug lesson afterward (6-count). This is a great chance to learn TWO new dances for the price of one (free!)

Howdy everyone! We’ll be back in the Friend Center Convocation Room this Wednesday (4/26) starting at 7pm. This week, we will start off with our beginner lesson (no experience required) – right after that, we’ll transition into a special one-night-only class led by Thalia on musicality, stylizations, and improvisations! Join us to learn how to add more personality, pizzazz and playfulness to your dancing. Beginners and more experienced dancers are welcome to attend the workshop – the beginner lesson will teach the basic moves and skills that we will need to know during the workshop, so we highly recommend attending both the beginner lesson and the workshop this week.
